Self-portrait
So I thought I'd take a break from cat pics and rectify
the fact that I don't have any pictures of yours truly here by posting
this one from a couple years ago. I started out thinking I'd do one of
those "self-portraits" where you see the photographer reflected in a
shiny surface in the scene, but then it occurred to me to try creating
a self-portrait using a lens in the scene rather than a mirror as an
auxilliary optical element.
Technical details: Lit by halogen desk
lamp. Camera 1: 9mm f/8, 14 elements in 11 groups (2 aspherical), ISO
160 CCD, 8sec. Camera 2 (estimated): 120mm f/2.5, 1 element in 1 group
(substantially aspherical), ISO 0 notepad.
