Good-bye gates!
We went into the city on the evening of the last gate day. Fought the crowds but nevertheless had a wonderful stroll through Central Park. Saw lots of gateage. We heard they were shooting first and asking questions later if it looked like you had even an inkling of a glimmer of a thought of anything remotely resembling vandalism, so we kept our hands in our pockets. The unknown photographer in the picture above was taking the photo I wanted to take and I didn't feel like waiting; hope her picture came out well. After they finally turned out the lights we met a friend who lives in the city for a very agreeable dinner (so-so food, terrific company).
